Application of digital educational content in geological studies

In recent years, the existing global trends in digitizing education have only intensified. The main impetus was given by the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the global education community to seek ways to deliver educational content to end-users wherever they may be. However, geology is a unique area of knowledge in this case. Much of the educational content in this field requires direct contact with the learner (outcrops, rock and mineral samples, thin sections etc.). That is why digitizing geology education is a challenging task. The report will show the experience of Gubkin University (Moscow) and the intermediate results of such attempts.
