Lucas worked as a doctoral student in our research group. In his dissertation, entitled "On the mechanisms controlling along-strike variations in pro-foreland basin development: a case study of the Alps-Molasse Basin system," he investigated the processes that control along-strike variations in the development of pro-foreland basins. His research encompassed seismic interpretation, basin analysis, stratigraphic forward modeling, and the linking of (sub)crustal processes with basin development. He also gained experience in seismic analysis using Petrel and OpenDtect, in time-to-depth conversion of seismic data, and supported teaching as a teaching assistant.
